Wendi Schneider’s Gilded Photographs Featured in Catherine Couturier Gallery’s “Deck the Walls” Exhibition

Catherine Couturier Gallery is delighted to present its annual group exhibition Deck the Walls. Deck the Walls is an exhibition of vintage and contemporary pieces that allows Catherine Couturier Gallery to showcase a variety of artists, prices, styles, and photographic mediums. Deck the Walls will feature works by Max Yavno, Horst P. Horst, and Robert Doisneau. Other exhibited artists will include Maggie Taylor, Kate Breakey, Kenny Braun, Susan Burnstine, Mabry Campbell, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Mitch Dobrowner, Weegee, Rachel Phillips, Brett Weston, and Jerry Uelsmann just to name a few. There will be something for everyone’s budget and taste.

Wendi Schneider’s “Patina Collection” in IF 6 at Rick Wester Fine Art

IF 6 is Rick Wester Fine Art Gallery’s first in-person group exhibition since before the start of the pandemic, signifying the beginning of a return to normalcy. In the same light, IF 6 brings hints of ecstasy, springtime and rebirth.

IF 6 is a visual representation of adaptability and perspective, with the title taken from Jimi Hendrix’s song, “If 6 Was 9,” which questions the possibility of another scenario. What would happen if 6 was 9, if the situation were reversed, if something you thought you knew ended up being something else entirely? It is a metaphor for the experience of the past year for most of us, everywhere.”

Wendi Schneider Featured in “Still in the Studio” at Catherine Couturier Gallery

“It has been a year of more and less. More appreciation, compassion, loss, recognition, reflection, solitude, and work. Less travel, interaction, and concern about unimportant things. Even mundane tasks have developed into more meditative moments. I am acutely aware of the passage of time and of my emotions, which seem to resonate more deeply. Wendi Schneider featured in Catherine Couturier Gallery’s “Safe in the Studio” Series

“My practice has not shifted measurably in the time of Covid-19. I turn to nature to dwell in serenity amidst the chaos, for it is there I find sanctuary and respite. I am transfixed and transformed when I capture impressions of fleeting grace in the natural world. Calmed by fluid, organic shapes reminiscent of the elegant whiplash lines of art nouveau botanicals, I photograph intuitively.“
