Arnika Dawkins Gallery presents a virtual exhibition of work by Wendi Schneider, bringing together a selection of hand-gilded photographs that explore light, atmosphere, and presence through luminous, materially responsive surfaces.
Included are The Visitor, a quiet, radiant Snowy Owl printed on kozo over white gold leaf; Moonglow), where tone and metal evoke a subtle nocturnal glow; and Along the Fence from The Weight of Light, in which white gold emerges gently through shadow. Selections from States of Grace extend this language into the botanical realm.
Printed on Japanese kozo or vellum and finished with hand-applied precious metals, each work is realized as a unique variant. Surface, tone, and reflectivity shift in response to changing light, allowing the image to settle and re-emerge over time.
Presented online, the exhibition offers an intimate encounter with works that are not only seen, but experienced through light itself.
